CutScore — Refund Policy

Summary
CutScore All-Access is billed in advance through Paddle as merchant of record. There are three ways your money comes back:
- 7-day no-questions-asked refund on a first purchase.
- The pass guarantee — if we told you that you were ready and you didn't pass, you get a full refund.
- Standard handling of duplicate charges, billing errors, failed activation, and your statutory rights.
This summary is not legally binding. The sections below are.
1. Scope
This Refund Policy applies to paid CutScore All-Access subscriptions processed through Paddle or another authorized payment provider. The free tier is free and involves no charge.
2. Paddle's role
Paddle acts as merchant of record for paid purchases and may process refunds, tax adjustments, receipts, invoices, chargebacks, and payment-related buyer support. You may contact CutScore support or Paddle buyer support for payment issues.
3. 7-day refund window
If you are unhappy with All-Access for any reason, request a refund within 7 days of your first paid transaction and we will refund it — no questions asked. This window applies to the first purchase on an account.
4. The pass guarantee
If CutScore showed you the "ready — book your exam" state and you then sat the exam and did not pass, you are eligible for a full refund of your current subscription term. To claim, within 30 days of your exam:
- have reached the "ready" state in CutScore before the exam, and
- submit your result through the app (pass/fail plus the scaled score) and upload proof — a screenshot or PDF of your official score report.
We verify the uploaded proof at the time we process your claim. The refund is issued once a member of our team has confirmed the failing result; until then the claim is pending.
The guarantee is deliberately bounded: it covers the one promise that matters — that we never tell you you're ready when you aren't. It is not a refund for changing your mind after passing, for not studying, or for never reaching the "ready" state.
5. Auto-renewal
We email you before a subscription renews, and you can cancel in one click from billing settings or Paddle's buyer portal. Cancellation stops future renewals. We do not charge silently.
6. Refunds we may provide
Beyond Sections 3 and 4, we may approve a refund or credit for duplicate charges, billing errors, failed activation where paid access was not made available, a material product defect that prevents access and is not resolved in a reasonable period, or any refund required by applicable consumer, digital-service, or payment law.
7. Statutory rights
Nothing in this policy limits refund or withdrawal rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.
8. How to request a refund
Use Billing settings, contact hello@cutscore.dev, or use Paddle's buyer support portal. Include the email used for purchase, the Paddle order or transaction ID, and the reason. For a pass-guarantee claim, include your verified score report.
